It was a great experience for my  students. They introduced themselves and there were times that wondered  -" Do they understand what I say Mrs Helen? Do they have similar names like ours?" They loved both of the Wordwall quizzes on Recycling and Citizenship. They really got excited when they saw that their Turkish friends knew the 6-7 popular trend and all of them at the end started doing it with big smiles.👨👧 " siiiixxxxx seeeevennnnn " At the end we sang to each other a Greek and a Turkish song and shouted " Gule gule " + " ΓΕΙΑ (yia)" =Goodbye in both languages.

Young Creators for a Greener Planet

Resim
Students created imaginative constructions using recyclable materials , giving new life to everyday objects such as plastic bottles, cardboard, and other reused items. Through this creative activity, they learned about the importance of recycling, sustainability, and protecting the environment . After completing their projects, the students organized a small exhibition at school , where they proudly presented their creations to their classmates. This activity encouraged creativity, environmental awareness, and responsible behavior as young citizens who care for the planet.

Our Hands for Children’s Rights

Resim
Students expressed their ideas about Children’s Rights through a creative art activity using handprints. Each student decorated a paper hand with colors, drawings, and words representing important rights such as the right to education, play, love, and protection. All the hands were then placed together to create a collective artwork, symbolizing unity, cooperation, and the shared responsibility to respect and protect the rights of every child. Through this activity, students reflected on their role as young citizens and learned that together their voices can make a difference.

Taking Action for a Cleaner Environment

Resim
As part of our project activities, students discussed environmental issues and the importance of keeping their surroundings clean. After sharing their ideas, they wore gloves and actively participated in a clean-up activity around the school area. Working together, they collected litter and properly disposed of it in recycling bins. Through this hands-on experience, students developed environmental awareness, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility as young citizens who care about protecting their community and the planet.

Discovering Children’s Rights Through Art

Resim
Students explored the topic of Children’s Rights through a variety of creative and interactive classroom activities. They watched educational videos, discussed the importance of children’s rights, and shared their ideas about respect, equality, and protection for every child. Inspired by these discussions, the students expressed their thoughts through drawings and posters, illustrating different rights such as the right to education, family, safety, and freedom of expression. This activity helped students better understand their rights and responsibilities while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and active participation as young citizens.

Young Citizens Create Their Project Logo

Resim
They used digital tools and basic coding activities to design creative logo proposals that represented the values of young citizens, such as participation, cooperation, and active voice in society. After the designs were completed, all project partners took part in an online voting process to select the final logo. This activity encouraged creativity, digital skills, collaboration, and democratic participation, giving students the opportunity to share their ideas and make collective decisions.

Code Week

Resim
As part of the e Twinning project “Voices of Young Citizens” , our participation in EU Code Week gave students the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions through coding activities. Using simple programming tools and creative digital applications, students designed small projects that highlighted issues important to them as active citizens, such as cooperation, children's rights, and participation in democratic life. This activity helped students develop computational thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills, while also strengthening their voice as young citizens in a digital and European learning environment.
